About DCGHSV

DCGHSV is a multigenerational advocacy group comprising Dartmouth alumni/ae, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and other friends and affiliates. We work collaboratively to support members of the Dartmouth community who currently face or have suffered gender harassment and/or sexual violence, and we advocate for institutional change that can sustain an equitable culture and environment where all can thrive. We recognize that longstanding aspects of Dartmouth’s institutional culture have enabled and encouraged gender-based abuses, and seek tangible change through our platform of community engagement, communication, and transparency.

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision is a Dartmouth where all students, staff and faculty can achieve their goals in an environment free of gender-based discrimination, harassment and sexual violence.

Our mission is to advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and gender discrimination at Dartmouth, amplify their voices through our various projects, and work towards a safe, equitable, and just campus by promoting meaningful reforms that will achieve greater transparency and accountability in Dartmouth’s policies and actions.

We support initiatives that thoughtfully and critically illuminate the opportunities Dartmouth has to realize its potential and aspirations, in the context of its stated values. We believe these opportunities require cultural humility and a willingness to engage with survivors of gender-based violence.

We call on Dartmouth to take a survivor-centered approach to reforming its culture and climate, and to repair institutional trust by addressing historical abuses.
